CUSTOMER: ProLogis
LOCATION: Plainfield, IN
BUILDER: MacDougall Pierce
CONTRACTOR: R.T. Moore
DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS: ProLogis wanted to maintain design temperature of 65° with an energy efficient heating system regardless of how the tenant space was subdivided after construction.
PROBLEM: ProLogis, like other developers in the area, had always had the problem of how to divide or install the heating system to meet all their future tenant’s needs. They were constantly moving and re-piping unit heaters to meet their customer’s needs.
SOLUTION: ProLogis had seen Air Energy Systems, Inc. ER system installed and operating at several Trammell Crow facilities in the area. ProLogis felt that, by putting the ER systems in the corners, they eliminated any future need to move the systems regardless of how the building’s space was subdivided. Along with not moving the systems, they also not only decreased the natural gas cost to their tenants, but provided a much more comfortable work environment for the tenant’s employees.
